Texan by birth. Texan by choice. All are welcome here!

Whether your family arrived more than a century ago or last month, we know you got here as fast as you could.

Welcome home.

And to those of you who are not currently in Texas. We understand that work, adventure, love, and purpose can take us all over the globe. We know you are still with us in spirit.

Any Texan who has lived abroad (you know, the Netherlands or...Oklahoma) understands what it's like to long for home, to miss family, to remember the subtle and not so subtle things that make Texas (and Texans) so unique. The Texan identity is distinct, robust, and deeply held. If you are like most Texans and want your children to be connected to their Texas roots no matter where they are born or happen to live, you are in the right place.

Texas Generations is the heartfelt expression of a Texpat who for twenty years has longed for ways to maintain a deep connection to home and ensure future generations are well grounded in their Texas roots: the colorful history and mythology, the rich musical culture, the beautiful and diverse people and places, even down to the very soil itself. ~

What is a Texas Generations Box?

Like other Texpats, when my daughter was born outside of Texas, I had dirt flown up north so she could be "Born on Texas Soil." Years later I created a small rustic, yet contemporary vessel in which to permanently house her "Texas Soil." This small box serves as a keepsake from her childhood to celebrate her strong Texas roots. Read about our story here.

Texas Generations Boxes can also serve as a memento for a family lake house, ranch, or special place. Learn how to make a custom box here.

"Texas is a state of mind. Texas is an obsession."

- John Stienbeck

- Conrad Hilton, First Generation Texan

"There's a vastness here and I believe that the people who are born here breathe that vastness into their soul. They dream big dreams and think big thoughts, because there is nothing to hem them in.”

This exploration and celebration of Texas and Texans is dedicated to an amazing Sixth Generation Texan who shared her zest for life, the theater, education (and her love of Texas) with thousands of Texas students. We love you, Ms. J.
